To the Rejects folder you chose during setup. Nothing is deleted or put in the Trash. If a file with the same name is already there, the new one gets a number, such as “Song (2).mp3”. You can change the folder in Settings (⌘ ,).

Press ⌘ Z. The file goes back exactly where it came from, and you can keep pressing it to step back further.

Only if you turn Apple Music on. macOS asks twice: once so Syfter can see your media library, and once so it can control the Music app. Syfter uses this to list the songs downloaded to your Mac and to remove the ones you reject after you approve it. If you said no, you can change it in System Settings › Privacy & Security, under Media & Apple Music and Automation.

Syfter waits for your approval. Click the Apple Music icon at the top right of the window to review them, then choose Remove from Apple Music. Their files move to Rejects and their entries leave your library. Streaming-only songs are not included.

Songs start 30% in by default, to skip the intro. Change it in Settings. Anything shorter than a minute, such as a sample or loop, always starts at the beginning.

MP3, M4A, AAC, WAV, AIF, AIFF and FLAC files stored on your Mac or on a connected drive. Hidden files and aliases are skipped.

The drive may be disconnected, or the folder may have moved. Reconnect the drive and choose Retry, or choose Locate to point Syfter at the folder’s new location. Your progress is kept.

Syfter never changes your DJ library. Rejected files show up there as missing, so Syfter includes step-by-step instructions for removing those entries: open Settings and choose View cleanup instructions. Check the list before removing anything, because a missing-files view also shows tracks that are missing for other reasons, such as an offline drive. Removing an entry discards its cues, beatgrid and crate membership.
